Shakti Mat Review
I was kindly gifted the Original Shakti Mat in Black and was so excited to try it after reading all the amazing reviews. I have been told I have an insane amount of knots in my back and shoulders (probably from everyday stress plus a bit of repetitive strain from using computers all the time) and thought it might not only help to ease this, but also prevent tension from getting built up. I also thought the mat would be a great way to aid quietening the mind with some meditation practice too.
So, I was a bit nervous about laying down on this at first, but it really wasn't as intense as I thought it would be. The deep focus on all the sensations cleared my mind completely and after the 'peak' tingle feeling I dipped into a totally serene state, and it fully relaxed my body. On my next session I tried the mat higher up with a towel rolled underneath so it focussed more on my neck and shoulders which felt great, though I'm yet to try my first yoga pose on it! 🧘😅
